We currently offer two types of art commissions...

Nature's Textures

Real pressed flowers and or/leaves are used to create art on canvas.

Pieces may be painted over entirely and used as textures, painted with similar coloring to prevent color fade, or left untouched to naturally fade into vintage shades.

Transfer into Nature

Digital art is transferred to a stained wood canvas via wax paper and ink, where nature pieces are used to enhance the photo, create texture or depict a scene.

Typical art used are of animals, objects or faceless characters. Actual photos of people are currently not an option.​

What is included in a commission art piece?

  1. An original and unique piece of art that is a collaboration between Kari Orvis and Nature. 

  2. Paperwork that includes:

    • Signed Certificate of Authenticity

    • A list labeling all the nature pieces used AND their symbolic meanings

    • Care Instructions

    • A QR code directly linking you to the art's process video on my YouTube Channel. IF THIS IS A GIFT, a personalized message to the recipient can be included in the video.​​

  3. Up to 6 months free repair on any nature pieces​:

    • Because I work with organic nature, there is always the potential of the unexpected. Though I insure every piece is fully dried out and have full confidence in my ability to adhere the pieces securely to the canvas, nature can be unpredictable. If you are following the care list included; yet you feel like a piece of the art is changing in some form, please notify me immediately. I will require a photo of the part; if I label it as abnormal, you will be responsible to carefully pack and ship the art piece to me. I will fix the problem and ship the piece back to you free of charge. This guarantee is in relation to the nature pieces used in the art; NOT the canvas or hardware. This is not to deter you or cause you to question the value of my art. I have had art pieces for well over a year and they remain fully intact and beautiful. This is just a guarantee on MY end for YOUR peace of mind.​

Cost:

The cost of a commissioned art piece will vary from piece to piece, depending on the size of canvas and the extent of the art process .

The following are estimates only of popular sizes and do not include shipping or art supplies:

  • 11x14 or 12x12......$200 - $400

  • 14x18 or 16x16......$400 - $600

  • 16x20 or 20x20......$600 - $800

  • 18x25 or 24x24......$800 - $1,000

Once the piece is finished, I will send you the final cost. Price may be less but will never be more than agreed upon.​

Additional costs:

  • Art supplies......$50 (includes but not limited to: canvas, stain, various glues, acrylic paints, shop towels, sealants, hardware, wear and tear of art tools and flower press boards, etc.)

  • Shipping......$12 - $60

Deposit:

A 30% deposit is required.

This will be a percentage of the highest anticipated cost. The deposit will then be deducted from the final calculated price.

Deposit is non-refundable if the customer backs out of the agreement.

Time of completion:

I require 2-3 weeks for a commission piece to be completed. Please allow another week for shipping.

Keep in mind, other commissions may be scheduled prior to your request. I can let you know a time frame of the waiting period. Once you send your deposit, I will put your name in the queue. You will then be sent an email when your commission piece has been started.

Only fill out and send in the form IF you are serious, as it will take my time to evaluate a price for you.

This is just a general form to get an idea of what you want so I can give you an approximant cost window. No deposit is required to fill out the form. We will discuss the art in more detail after I accept the commission.

Please keep in mind, I work my best when I have the most freedom of creativity. I may refuse a commission request if the client is too specific OR I do not have access to the nature pieces they request.

These will be in the art itself, aside from the background. Leave blank if you do not have an opinion.

For example: horse, dragon, butterfly, bird, person, tree

Example 1: I am looking for flowers that look like daisies.

Example 2: I want to include something that resembles pine trees.

Example 3: I love hydrangeas!

Nature pieces paint option
Leave the nature pieces organic to fade into vintage colors
Paint over the nature pieces to prevent color fade

Painting over the nature pieces will ensure that the color of the art will not change. However, it will lose the "pressed flower" look. Instead, you will get a more textured, painted look.

If you decide to leave the organic pieces untouched, please know the colors will fade over time.

Example 1: This piece is for my sister's wedding. I want the pieces to symbolize love.

Example 2: This piece is for my husband. I would like the pieces to symbolize overcoming obstacles or strength.

Example 3: This is for my friend who just lost her mom. I want the pieces to symbolize sympathy and care.

Included in the commission, the receiver of the art piece will get a QR code that takes them to a video on my YouTube Channel. The video shares the art process and symbolic meanings of the nature pieces. Would you like to personalize this video and send a message to the receiver in the video?
